Watch TV On Your Computer
SlingPlayer for Mac, Version 1.0
SlingPlayer For Mac gives Mac computer owners the ability to watch
and program their favorite TV channels, without leaving their computer
desk. SlingPlayer Mac supports a full range of viewing modes all
with the Mac OS look and feel.
With full remote control, you can watch content from your home
entertainment system cable, DVR, DVD and range of Apple entertainment
products including: Apple TV, Front Row, iPod in Apple's Universal
Dock or iPod in an iPod Hi-Fi.
SlingPlayer Mobile
SlingPlayer Mobile is a beta client called Sling Media and currently
runs on S60 Symbian devices,with a BlackBerry version in the pipeline.
SlingPlayer Mobile is available for a number of other mobile platforms,
including the Palm OS and Windows Mobile. Install SlingPlayer Mobile
on your smartphone, and link in wirelessly to the Slingbox device
attached to your television to transport your home 'placeshifted'
cable, satellite, or digital video recorder (DVR) content remotely
anywhere in the world. That's cool!
DVR Media
DVR slingbox users can also watch recorded shows, pause and rewind
live TV or queue new recordings from their smartphone.
Smartphones Supported
The new S60 version supports the Nokia E65, N75 and N95 in the
U.S. In Europe, Sling Media also supports the Nokia 6120 and N73.
Nokia has just released an unlocked U.S.-style 3G compatible version
of the N95, called the N95-3.
Just make sure you have an 'all-you-can-eat data' plan for your
smartphone.
Cost
Currently [Oct 07] SlingPlayer Mobile is expected to be free in
the US by the end of 2007; and costs $29.99 in Canada and £19.99
in the UK.
